Mark was born and raised in Wichita Falls and attended Wichita Falls High School. He has been a firefighter with the Wichita Falls Fire Department for the last 13 years. He is also the owner/manager of Mark Pinson Construction, LLC. Mark volunteers as a co-track operator at the Wee-Chi-Tah BMX track here in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mark is an avid cyclist, having completed several different events at the Hotter’ N Hell 100 over the last years, as well as many other local events. He is nationally ranked in BMX bike racing and Mark was an instrumental part of bringing the Wee-Chi-Tah BMX Track to Wichita Falls in 2014, along with Wichita Falls Streams and Valleys and the Hotter’ N Hell 100 committees. He also enjoys riding and racing mountain bikes. He is passionate about cycling of all types and loves to share his enthusiasm with newcomers. Mark reluctantly runs with Valerie sometimes (when she begs).
Mark and Valerie currently reside in Wichita Falls with their three children, Madilynn, age 14, and Hunter and Henry, age 9. The kids keep them busy with BMX racing, soccer, mixed martial arts, and basketball, as well as anything else they can be involved in.

How long have you been doing triathlons, running, or swimming?
I raced BMX bikes when I was a kid and then started again in 2011. I started riding road bikes in 2008 and mountain bikes in 2012.
